Prot-EFA™ Nutritional System - Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ Overview:
Do the cranberry seed extracts in Prot-EFA™ help with
urinary tract infections? Do the cranberry seed extracts in Prot-EFA™ help with urinary tract infections? Like all Fruit Essentials products, the Prot-EFA™ Nutritional System uses cranberry and other fruit seed extracts as base ingredients. The seed extracts have different nutritional properties than the rest of the cranberry. The active compounds attributed to urinary tract health in the cranberries are called proanthocyandins (PACs). Cranberry oil comes from the tiny seeds. The seed extracts contain only small amounts of PACs, but offer many other nutrients that are beneficial to your health. Despite the strong association with cranberries, this product is not designed to promote urinary tract health.Cranberry oil comes from the tiny seeds. If you’re looking for a urinary health product, a better solution may be our Cranberry Women’s Formula. Where does the protein in Prot-EFA™ come from? While it may be counter-intuitive, the protein actually comes from the tiny cranberry seeds. Because the seeds are cold-processed, we retain the bioavailability of the nutrients, including the complete protein profile. The protein within Prot-EFA™ is highly digestible and can be easily assimilated into the body. This is in part due to their occurrence in a natural state along with other key compounds within the formulas, which affect the bioavailability. Other sources of protein such as meat are generally found with saturated fats. The presence of naturally occurring essential fatty acids greatly affects the uptake and utilization of the proteins in this formula. In addition, other sources such as whey protein no not contain a complete protein profile – all essential and branched chain amino acids. Why does Prot-EFA™ come in two formulas? Different nutrients have unique properties that make them either oil-soluble or water-soluble. To achieve some of the natural synergies involved with different types of nutrients, we’ve assembled Prot-EFA™ as a two-part system. Each formula contains a completely different nutritional profile. We designed it to cover a broad spectrum of essential nutrients. There is no other product like Prot-EFA™ on the market. What type of essential fatty acids (EFA) are in Prot-EFA™? The Prot-EFA™ Oil formula is a blend of fruit and flax oils which contain omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. Because all of these oils are plant-derived, the primary omega-3 is Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA). While there are other fatty acids in the blend, the primary omega-6 is Linoleic Acid (LA), and the primary omega-9 is Oleic Acid. Do you have a question that isn't addressed on this page?
